This is a conceptual piece for my 2D Design class. We had to choose a current event and make a conceptual piece of artwork to go along with it. (Not unlike Picasso's Guernica.)

This particular piece is about the infants in China. Some of you may remember the dogs dying from Melanin in the dog food in 2007. This is happening now in China, except instead of dogs, it's the infants. Melanin is in their baby formula. 6 infants have died, and 300,000 have become sick from kidney stones. The companies have essentially tried to cover it up, or ignore it completely.

This is done in charcoal, except for the men standing in the background. They're photocopies of a drawing that I did in Micron pen.

Apologies for the semi-bad quality. I don't have a scanner, and even if I did, it would not fit this piece. I had to take a picture of it, so that's the explanation for the quality.
